The Joemeek oneQ is the most full-featured, technologically advanced studio channel we've ever made!
A single channel combining Mic Pre (with Burr-Brown IC), four band EQ (the most flexible of any Joemeek ever) our "signature" optical compressor, De-Esser and Enhancer, it's a master channel like no other. We even included 24bit, 96K A/D converters with word clock input and output.
Housed in a 2u chassis, the elegantly sculpted faceplate is intelligently laid out, with clear, easy to read legends and a large analog VU meter.
Think of the oneQ as six separate pieces of equipment:
The new oneQ raises the bar for all studio master channels!

Digital Interface
The Joemeek Digital Audio Interface provides high quality digital audio outputs plus the ability to synchronize to an external word clock. The digital audio outputs are compatible with most digital recorders, as well as Digital Audio Workstations and digital mixers. S/PDIF format is available from both the optical and the RCA phono connectors, while the transformer coupled XLR connector provides an AES3 compliant output.
The Joemeek Digital Interface has highly stable onboard master clocks for low-jitter, hi-fi results. Internal sample rates of 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz or 96kHz are selected by means of rear panel switches. 44.1kHz is the standard used for audio CD's, while 48kHz and 96kHz are widely used in recording studios. In general, the higher the sample rate, the better the audio fidelity, but the more disk space is required for the recording. For example, recording at 96kHz requires twice as much storage as 48kHz. Consult the manual of your recorder or DAW as to what sample rates it will accommodate.
Alternatively the oneQ may be set to the frequency of an external master word clock, generated, for example, by the studio's recorder or DAW. When connected to the BNC socket provided, a suitable external word clock will be detected automatically and will override the oneQ's internal word clock. The front panel LED labelled 'EXT CLK' illuminates when the oneQ is successfully locked to an external word clock. A further possibility is to synchronise a recorder or DAW to the oneQ's internal clock, using the oneQ's Word Clock Output.
To avoid distortion, care should be taken not to overdrive the input to the Digital Interface. The red LED next to the Output Gain control is labeled "PEAK FSD" which stands for "Full Scale Digital". Occasional flashes are OK but if it is on all the time, turn something down!

JM37-DP (Dual Pattern) Studio Condenser Microphone
The JM37-DP is a high quality, large diaphragm condenser microphone with Cardioid and Omni patterns. By utilizing FET devices for both preamplifier and output stages, we created a microphone that's destined to be your "go-to" mic for a variety of recording purposes.
We used classic "center-electrode" design for the capsule, which provides very smooth extended frequency response. Then we used dynamic feedback at the capacitor element, which further enhanced the audio quality by eliminating distortions that may occur at high SPL.
The large 1.035" dual diaphragms are manufactured from micro-fine Mylar with gold sputtering. The body is machined from solid brass, with connection to the outside world via a 3 Pin XLR connector. Power is supplied via Phantom Power from either your console or microphone preamplifier.
An excellent choice for male and female lead vocals, the JM37-DP also excels at recording choir, orchestral and other acoustic instruments.
- Noise Level: 19dB (A weighted)
- Frequency response: substantially flat 25Hz to 20KHz
